Carlito Says He Hasn’t Had Contact With WWE Since February 1st Match

Carlito Thumb

When Carlito entered the 2021 Royal Rumble at number eight it was his first appearance in a WWE ring since 2010.

Carlito followed up the shock return with an appearance on RAW the following night. Back on the red brand, the former United States Champion teamed with Jeff Hardy to overcome Elias and Jaxon Ryker.

Appearing on The Angle Podcast, Carlito explained that he hasn’t had any contact with WWE since that appearance. The former Intercontinental Champion revealed that the two sides only agreed on the two appearances that he made.

“It was just the Rumble and I think the day before the Rumble they asked if I can do Raw too and I said ‘yeah, sure, whatever you guys need.’ That’s all we talked about. It was Raw and the Rumble. I’ve had no communication since the Raw appearance,”

At the time of the match on RAW it was reported that Carlito had received a try-out as a producer. However, Carlito never ended up taking such a position.

With that being said, Carlito said that he would be open to becoming a producer or trainer.

“Yeah. A producer role or a trainer role. All of that kind of sounds intriguing. I’m willing to listen to whatever at this point, but I think those would be interesting helping out the younger guys and help them develop, which would be something new for me. I think I’d find it fun to do.”

Carlito initially signed with WWE in 2003, where he joined OVW. The Puerto Rican debuted on the main roster just a year later.

“Caribbean Cool” left the company in May 2010.

Following his return at the 2021 Royal Rumble, Carlito said that he was humbled to receive such a positive reception.
