Former WWE United States Champion Carlito has hinted that he would listen to offers from both WWE and AEW as he searches for a new home.
After being away from WWE for over a decade, the man who once spat in the face of people who didn’t want to be cool made his triumphant return to the company on January 31 at the 2021 Royal Rumble when he entered at number eight and lasted 8:26.
Though his comeback wasn’t as most had imagined, the star appeared on the company’s red brand the following night when he teamed with Jeff Hardy in a victory over Elias and Jaxson Ryker, the intentions of Carlito became clear when it was announced that over the next few weeks the star would be trying out for a role as WWE Producer.
Now, the wild haired, apple-eating grappler has joined WhattaDay! in order to talk about what he wants from a main stage comeback. When asked if there was any chance he would join AEW over staying with WWE, the talent stated that he is open to any type of offer:
“As of now, I’m open to whatever kind of idea is out there. I’m on my own. If a great opportunity comes to go back to WWE, I’m just open to whatever comes my way. Whatever great idea is out there, I’m willing to listen and see if I fit in.”
At time of writing, it’s unknown whether Carlito’s try-out for a WWE Producer role was or will be successful. However, should it not be the correct avenue for him to walk down then the current state of the professional wrestling world has other opportunities for him to explore.
