Hip Hop megastar Cardi B is reportedly in line to host WWE SummerSlam.

Fightful Select note that WWE are attempting to bring the controversial rapper on board to host the summer spectacular.

“Fightful has learned from WWE sources that they’re hoping they can bring Cardi B in as a host for the show.”

Interestingly, the report also suggests that the location for the show is not yet definite.

The news of a potential Cardi B appearance has since been backed up by Andrew Zarian, who commented “I can confirm that I was told Cardi B is the host for SummerSlam this year.”

The New York rapper first came to prominence on the VH1 reality TV show Love & Hip Hop: New York in 2015. The star broke through into the mainstream two years later, before releasing her acclaimed debut album ‘Invasion of Privacy’ in April 2018.

The multi-platinum selling artist courted controversy a year ago with the release of her single ‘WAP’ alongside Megan Thee Stallion. The track caused a stir both among fans and critics for its sexually charged lyrics.

The rapper’s song ‘Up’ will also serve as the theme song for the show.

An appearance would not be Cardi B’s first brush with WWE as she was name dropped on RAW Legends Night in January. The rapper reacted to the name drop on Twitter, revealing that she was a wrestling fan when she was younger.

WWE SummerSlam 2021 has been the subject of huge speculation in recent weeks as WWE look to begin life back on the road. The company have already confirmed that the show will break tradition and take place on
Saturday August 21st.

However, while there has been speculation about the location of the event, there has been no official confirmation by WWE as yet. The event’s location will be revealed during the 2021 Belmont Stakes’ pre-race show on NBC next Saturday, June 5.

It has been reported that SummerSlam is set to take place in Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The stadium which is the home of the Las Vegas Raiders NFL franchise is yet to hold any kind of combat sports event.
