WWE’s new Senior Vice President of Talent ID & Development, the role previously held by Canyon Ceman, has been revealed.
In a report from Wrestling Inc, it was confirmed that Trent D. Wilfinger had stepped into the role earlier this month, citing a post on Wilfinger’s LinkedIn page:
In the last few weeks, a massive opportunity came about that I am extremely excited to share. Later this month, I will be joining the WWE as their new Senior Vice President of Talent ID & Development. I look forward to working side by side James Kimball under the leadership of Paul Levesque to help bring to life a game changing vision and strategy.
It’s time to go find, support, and develop the next wave of WWE Superstars. #wwe #nxt
Though without any obvious connection to professional wrestling per se, Wilfinger does come to the role with extensive experience in senior management positions across a range of sports and athletic brands.
Ceman, who was ousted back in July, had been with the company since 2012 and was said to have been involved with the scouting, recruitment and evaluation of talents for the WWE development system.
