A new report has shockingly revealed that NXT veteran Candice LeRae has officially left the WWE despite earlier reports that her contract would be extended by the company following her time off from the company whilst on maternity leave.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful broke the news this afternoon that, former NXT Tag Team Champion and matriarch of The Way, Candice LeRae had officially departed from the WWE after signing for the company back in 2018.

Dave Metlzer of the Wrestling Observer previous noted that LeRae’s contract was set to expire in May 2022 but added that it was possible that the WWE would freeze her contract whilst the beloved star was on maternity leave thus extending the duration of her contract.

LeRae now joins partner and fellow NXT legend Johnny Gargano as one of the hottest free agents on the market, with Gargano’s WWE contract expiring in January earlier this year.

The Gargano’s welcomed their first child, Quinn , into the world earlier this year and Johnny has gone on record multiple times stating that although he is not done with wrestling he wants to spend some time being Johnny Parenting before he returns to Johnny Wrestling.

Inside The Ropes will look to provide more information on LeRae’s WWE departure as it becomes available.
