Candice LeRae and More Suffer Injuries At NXT TakeOver: WarGames

Multiple NXT stars have suffered injuries during NXT TakeOver: WarGames – per Fightful Select and Triple H – including Candice LeRae, Oney Lorcan and Bobby Fish.

Immediately following NXT TakeOver: WarGames, Fightful Select reported that both Candice LeRae and Oney Lorcan sustained injuries during their respective WarGames matches. Lorcan was seen to have endured lacerations to his face during the show’s main event but was immediately attended to by ringside trainers after the cameras stopped rolling.

LeRae’s condition, meanwhile, is more serious. According to Fightful, NXT’s ‘Poison Pixie’ has sustained an arm injury which is feared to be a broken wrist or arm at worst. The injury seems to have occurred when Shotzi Blackheart delivered a diving senton from the top of a ladder, catching LeRae’s arm between a chair that was laid on top of her and her own body.

Fears that LeRae may have broken her arm were later corroborated by Triple H during the NXT TakeOver: WarGames post-show media call when Mike Johnson of PWInsider asked the WWE Executive Vice President for an update on her condition:

“Candice is getting checked out now, getting her x-rayed and checked out so I really don’t have a status update yet on that, but you are correct. [It’s] possibly a broken arm, maybe, we’re not sure yet but we’ll see where that goes.”

The Game also unveiled a third injury on the show that, thankfully, seems to be more minor. Bobby Fish apparently sustained a laceration to his elbow during the second WarGames match of the night, though the rest of the show’s stars seem to only have “bumps and bruises”:

“Bobby Fish got a little bit of a laceration of his elbow but we’re exactly sure if it’s just the elbow so we’re waiting to see. Other than that, just bumps and bruises.”

All three stars competed in WarGames matches at NXT TakeOver WarGames: Bobby Fish and Oney Lorcan faced off in the main event confrontation between The Undisputed ERA and Kings of NXT whilst Candice LeRae’s team scraped out a victory over Shotzi Blackheart’s crew – when Raquel Gonzalez pinned NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai.
