Jake Paul could be in for the biggest challenge of his boxing career after being called out by boxer and WrestleMania XV star, Butterbean.
Butterbean has long been a stand-out star in the boxing world with a professional record of 77 wins, 10 losses, and four draws. For the latter part of his career, the real-life Eric Esch combined the sweet science with a kickboxing career that saw him pick up three pro wins in the K1 promotion and an MMA record that saw him record 17 victories.
Wrestling fans will remember Butterbean best from his sojourn into the pro wrestling world at WrestleMania XV in 1999. Bart Gunn had won the infamous Brawl For All tournament the previous year and was rewarded with a boxing bout with the prizefighter on The Grandest Stage Of Them All. It took just 34 seconds for Butterbean to knock out Gunn and claim the victory.
Now Butterbean is looking for one last fight before hanging up his gloves and speaking in a video posted on his social media says he has turned to WWE Hall of Famer DDP to get into shape for the bout:
“I’m working with DDP to get up walking and running around again and I’m feeling the best shape I ever have. I’m at fight weight. You’ll have to listen to my podcast coming up to find exactly how much weight I have lost, but I haven’t weighed this in over 20 years so that’ll give you an idea.”
Butterbean then calls out YouTube turned boxing star Jake Paul, whose brother Logan competed at WrestleMania 38 earlier in 2022:
“[My] big announcement is I’m gonna fight one last fight. It’s gonna be one year from now. […] If you’re ready, I’m here for you my friend. Let’s get it on, me and you Jake Paul”.
