Bully Ray Tells Eddie Kingston To “Shut The F*ck Up”

Eddie Kingston Dynamite

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray had some choice words for Eddie Kingston recently, telling him to “Shut the f*ck up and stay in his lane.”

These comments came after Kingston would make several comments of his own following an AEW Dynamite taping. Cutting a promo for the live audience, Kingston would take several shots at WWE. During the tirade, Eddie would accuse ‘the competition’ of not listening to it’s audience:

“That’s what I’m talking about. Because the competition sometimes doesn’t want to hear their fans. Oh, I guess I’m burning another bridge — surprise! Ladies and gentlemen, AEW cares about their fans. Because we are not here just to get ourselves a paycheck. We’re here every week — with you people, without you people — and we come out here and we bust our asses. We love professional wrestling!

“You saw a match between Kenny Omega and my dude, Jungle Boy, that you will not see on the other channel. You will not see legends who are respected on the other channel. You will not see people like me and my best friend (Penta) on the other channel. And you will not see the heart that everybody in that locker room has on the other channel. Ladies and gentlemen, I was supposed to send you home happy, but I’m speaking from my heart. The bottom line is this: We are AEW. We will see you Wednesday, and we want to hear you!”

Bully Ray, who appeared in WWE as Bubba Ray Dudley, would address Kingston’s statement on a recent episode of Busted Open Radio. Although criticising Eddie for his outburst, Bully Ray would firstly acknowledge Kingston’s superior promo skills:

“I love Eddie Kingston to death. If we were having promo wars and I was the captain of the team, and somebody says, ‘you get to pick one person to do the promo for you,’ I’d most likely pick Eddie. Because of his believability, tone, inflection and everything about him.”

However, the former WWE Tag Team Champion then reprimanded Kingston for the shots taken at WWE:

“But in this case, Eddie needs to shut the f*ck up and stay in his lane. And his lane is [of] an AEW guy speaking about AEW, and flying the flag for AEW. Then, I’m completely onboard. Tell me how great AEW is. Fly the flag for your company, show me that you wear your heart on your sleeve.

You were indie guy for the majority of his career until this company [AEW] took a chance on you. You’ve learned to love it and everything about it. Don’t take the easy way out and knock the WWE.”

Prior to joining AEW, Eddie Kingston made his name on the independent scene. Debuting in October 2002, Kingston has appeared for a litany of companies, including Ring of Honor, CHIKARA, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and the National Wrestling Alliance.

Though never appearing for WWE, Eddie Kingston would unsuccessfully tryout for the company in September 2016. Bully Ray believes that unlike other AEW stars who have a history with WWE, Kingston has no reason to comment on a company he has never worked for:

“If Cody wants to destroy a throne, I get it. If Jericho wants to say FU, I get it. But, Eddie? Why? There’s no reason for him to say [such stuff].

If you go back and listen to the fans, they really didn’t pop that hard when he took a jab at WWE. You didn’t get the reaction you were looking for. People were most likely thinking, ‘alright, Eddie, stay away from that… there’s no reason to go there.’”
