WWE Hall Of Famer Bully Ray thinks AEW should stick with Kenny Omega as AEW Champion and says it’s not the right time for Hangman Adam Page.
Bully Ray was giving his thoughts on the upcoming AEW World Championship match between Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page on a recent edition of Busted Open Radio.
The former Dudley Boy noted he was excited about the Full Gear main event but says Page’s time is not now and urged Tony Khan to keep the belt on The Best Bout Machine:
“I would say to stick with Kenny right now. That’s just my own personal opinion. I’m not gonna say if Tony decides to switch it’s the wrong decision, or this or that. Listen, booking is all about feel also. There are Xs and Os that go with it but it’s also all about feel.”
“Do I feel it’s the right time for Hangman? I’m gonna say in nine days? No. I would like to see Kenny get more heat on Hangman or them come up with a way to get more heat on Hangman.”
Within the confines of All Elite Wrestling, the issues between Omega and Hangman Page stretch back to when the two men became AEW Tag Team Champions in January 2020. The Elite duo held the belts for nine months before losing them to FTR at All Out and Page’s spiral away from his former friends took hold.
This is the second year in a row that Page and Omega will meet one on one at Full Gear after facing one another in the final of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament in 2020. On that occasion Kenny Omega came out on top and went on to claim the AEW Title by defeating Jon Moxley, unveiling an alliance with Don Callis and with it a whole new attitude.
Page returned to AEW after the birth of his first child on the 6th of October edition of AEW Dynamite as a surprise entrant in the Casino Ladder Match. Page grabbed the poker chip to claim victory and his title impending title shot with Omega.
