WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray has claimed that two former NXT stars now on WWE’s main roster need to improve their in-ring work.
SummerSlam has been and gone for another year but the headlines for the show in Nissan Stadium were stolen by Brock Lesnar and his tractor as well as three women who made a surprise appearance on the show.
Following Bianca Belair’s successful Raw Women’s Championship defence against Becky Lynch, Bayley returned to WWE television for the first time in over a year due to injury. However, WWE’s Role Model did not come alone as Dakota Kai and IYO SKY – the former Io Shirai – soon joined her to confront Belair.
Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Bully Ray has claimed while there is understandable excitement at SKY graduating to the main roster and Kai returning to the company, both women have work to do in the ring:
“Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky have some work to do in the ring. It’s good that they’re back, blah, blah, blah, but they have some work to do in the ring. I hope that… you see, what happens to a lot of talent is in NXT there’s a level of comfort. But then when you get to the main roster, you realize, ‘Hey, this is the real world of pro wrestling and there’s a gun to your head.’ So I’ve seen Dakota and Iyo, I’ve seen their in-ring stuff on the main roster, they have to tighten their screws.”
