Bryan Danielson To Miss Forbidden Door, Zack Sabre Jr Will Appear

Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson has confirmed that he will not be appearing at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

After days of speculation, Bryan Danielson opened the June 22nd episode of AEW Dynamite. In a promo with Tony Schiavone, Danielson commented that it was a great time to be in AEW before addressing his own availability.

The American Dragon explained that he would love to be appearing at Forbidden Door but he has not been medically cleared. Danielson revealed that he wanted to take on Zack Sabre Jr at the event, but due to the actions of Chris Jericho and Jake Hager, he wouldn’t be able to compete.

However, he said that he had hand picked an opponent for Sabre Jr and Forbidden Door. This brought out the New Japan star, before the two stared each other down.

Bryan Danielson hasn’t wrestled since Double or Nothing on May 29th due to an undisclosed injury. While it was initially reported that he would be back in action quickly, he’s yet to return to the ring.

Furthermore, Danielson recently missed a meet and greet session, as he was unable to fly due to the injury.

Bryan Danielson and Zack Sabre Jr have wrestled previously, but not for more than a decade. A bout between the two has been seen as a dream match for a number of years, with both men proclaiming to be the ‘best technical wrestler in the world.’
