Bryan Danielson and AEW ring announcer Justin Roberts rolled back the years after AEW Dynamite went off the air as they relived one of the most notorious moments of Danielson’s career.
Back in 2010 Bryan Danielson left The American Dragon behind and embarked on a new adventure as part of WWE where he was known as Daniel Bryan. Danielson was part of the original series of NXT when it was part wrestling show, part reality competition with rookies paired with WWE Superstars.
Eventually, Danielson was voted off the series and Wade Barrett went on to be crowned the winner but for all the NXT rookies, their WWE adventure was just beginning.
On the June 7th, 2010 edition of Monday Night Raw, all the rookies from season one of NXT invaded the arena causing mayhem and destruction never before seen on WWE television as they took apart the ringside area and started dismantling the ring.
For Bryan Danielson, this night brought his WWE career to a shuddering halt as he was released from the company afterward. The reason behind his release was that he had been seen on camera choking ring announcer Justin Roberts with his own tie. This was deemed to be too much for the new PG landscape WWE was operating in.
Thankfully for all concerned, the release was short-lived and Daniel Bryan made his triumphant comeback to the company as the surprise 7th man on Team WWE that faced the group now known as The Nexus in the main event of SummerSlam.
Fast forward 11 years to the present day and both Bryan Danielson and Justin Roberts are All Elite. On the most recent edition of AEW Dynamite, Bryan Danielson provided commentary on the main event between Orange Cassidy and Miro. The winner of that bout is to face Danielson in the final of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament at Full Gear.
After the match, Danielson made his way to the ring and offered his hand in congratulations to the victor but was rebuffed as the show went off the air.
Now a photo has emerged on social media of what happened after Dynamite went off the air in front of the live crowd in Independence, Missouri.
