Bryan Danielson Gives Insight Into Ideal Part-Time Schedule In 2025

Bryan Danielson will be significantly cutting back on his wrestling schedule next year.

The American Dragon has been very open that 2024 will be his final year as a full-time wrestler. However, with Danielson being known in his career to just wrestle as much as possible, what does a part-time Danielson schedule look like? Ironically, some may feel that what Danielson considered to be a part-time schedule at one point would have been considered a full-time schedule for most.

Speaking with Tokyo Sports ahead of his match with Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 18, the AEW star believes that he is unlikely to break double figures in 2025:

“I’ve been wrestling every week for a long time, and I’m trying to narrow it down in terms of matches. After this year, I’ll probably have five to ten matches a year.”

With AEW and New Japan having a very strong relationship, Danielson has hinted that he would like to compete for the promotion again in the near future. Despite looking to wrestle part-time next year, The American Dragon has multiple stars of NJPW he wants to have matches against:

“I can fight as a junior, so I would like to fight Hiromu Takahashi or El Desperado. In the heavyweight division, it would be Naito (Tetsuya). He is very popular in Japan. But in my opinion, he is the best. The person I want to play with is Hiroshi Tanahashi. Can I have one more? (Takagi) I’d like to mention Shingo’s name as well. Oh, and (Tomohiro) Ishii as well! There are just too many and I’m in trouble,”

Bryan Danielson Wanted Major AEW Rematch

Despite never competing in the G1 Tournament in New Japan, Danielson was a part of the inaugural AEW Continental Classic round-robin tournament. While multiple top stars were in the tournament, fans felt that major names were notably absent. Commenting on the tournament, Bryan Danielson admitted that he wanted to see a major name compete in the AEW Continental Classic.
