Bryan Danielson has lifted the lid on his wrestling wish list.
In recent weeks the American Dragon has admitted he’s looking to end his full-time career before the end of 2024. However, that doesn’t mean Danielson will just be coasting until he steps away.
After two wars with Ricky Starks, Danielson went hold-for-hold in a modern classic opposite Zack Sabre Jr. at WrestleDream, and he’s just getting started.
Appearing on the Getting Over podcast, the star ran down some names he’d like to face before he starts to wind down. The most eye-catching name on the list was that of Kenny Omega. Danielson famously wrestled Omega to a 30-minute draw on his AEW debut at Grand Slam in 2021.
“I have people I’d like to get in the ring with,” Danielson explained. “Most of them are AEW people because those are the most easily accessible. For example, I would love to do a match with Darby Allin in Seattle. How cool would that be? Even like Nick Wayne. Me and Swerve have never wrestled. And I’m just talking about Washington State wrestlers.
I want to do another match with Kenny Omega. There’s all these different things that I would like to do but… I don’t want to limit it to names. What I really want out of this year is to be fully present and to be able to appreciate this being my last full-time year of wrestling.”
Zack Sabre Jr. Has His Eyes On Bryan Danielson
Although he might have lost out at WrestleDream, Zack Sabre Jr. isn’t done with Bryan Danielson. Speaking after the match in Seattle, Sabre Jr. said he wanted to retire Danielson in the UK or in his adopted home of Japan.
