Bryan Danielson Admits Neck Is “Trashed” Heading Into AEW All In, Details How It Will Affect His Match

Bryan Danielson Vows To

Bryan Danielson isn’t 100% going into AEW All In.

At All In on August 25th, Bryan Danielson will go head to head with Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship inside Wembley Stadium. The match has huge stakes: if Danielson fails to capture the title, he’s vowed that he will retire from professional wrestling.

Speaking in a new interview with Bleacher Report ahead of the pay-per-view, the American Dragon admits that his neck isn’t in great shape currently, but he doesn’t believe the pain will affect his performance.

“My neck is trashed. But other than that, I feel good. One of the things that I’m good at is experiencing pain and it not necessarily affecting me much. It doesn’t really affect my mental space.

How Does Bryan Danielson’s Neck Pain Affect His Life?

Continuing, Bryan Danielson noted that his neck issues affect him more as a parent than they do in the ring. Laughing, he said:

The only thing that it does kind of affect is my parenting because our son is four and wild. He loves jumping on my back and jumping on my neck, and I’m like, ‘Argh, stop!'”

The star made it clear that while he will likely need surgery down the line, he doesn’t expect his neck to affect his match with Strickland.

“It affects my training and that sort of thing. But other than that, I feel good. The odds are, by the end of the year, I’m probably going to have to get neck surgery or whatever it is. But right now, it feels manageable. And when I get out and wrestle, I feel invincible. So that’s not even a concern.”

Bryan Danielson recently revealed that he’s working in AEW without a contract.
