WWE Hall of Famer Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake is reportedly dealing with health issues.
This unfortunate news comes following a Facebook post from Brutus’ wife, Missy Leslie, who noted that her husband had registered a blood pressure reading of 170/110 and had been suffering from both headaches and shortness of breath.
Missy went on to note that her husband had visited a doctor on the morning of June 16th, before asking fans to offer their prayers in support of ‘The Barber’.
Beefcake, now 64 years of age, is still taking wrestling-related bookings, having appeared at the River City Wrestling Con at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds earlier in June.
‘The Barber’ enjoyed a memorable career as an active wrestler and is well known for his stint inside the WWF, and in particular, his relationship with Hulk Hogan.
His career was halted for nearly two years in the early nineties, where a parasailing accident saw Beefcake suffer significant damage to his facial skeleton, requiring significant reconstructive surgery and a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The former WWF Tag Team Champion (with Greg ‘The Hammer’ Valentine) was inducted into the 2019 WWE Hall of Fame class by the Hulkster himself and remains a cult favourite among fans of that era.
No further details on Beefcake’s health are available at this time.
Everyone here at Inside the Ropes wishes Beefcake a speedy recovery.
