Former WWE Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys lived up to their name by besmirching the air in the presence of the wondrous Miss Elizabeth, an act that would wind up costing the tag team $10,000, according to Brutus Beefcake.
Brutus ‘The Barber’ Beefcake was a guest on The Wrestling Inc. Daily where he described ‘the fart heard round the world’ that was let loose on a WWE tour of London in the early nineties.
According to Beefcake, the offending odour was emitted in front of ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage and his then-wife and valet Miss Elizabeth. Apparently Savage was so outraged by noxious emission he sent Miss Elizabeth with a one-way ticket back to the cleaner air of the United States.
“The Nasty Boys were in London and Saggs or Knobbs let out a big fart in a dressing room or wherever they were at with Randy Savage and Elizabeth. And Randy [Savage] put Elizabeth on an airplane and sent her home. Vince still wanted her back so WWE charted a Concorde to fly her back there. Since that cost like 5 or 10 grand, The Nasty Boys were forced to pay for it themselves. They called it the fart heard around the world.”
According to Cagematch.net, The Nasty Boys Jerry Saggs and Brian Knobbs were part of the European Rampage Again tour in April 1992 that Randy Savage also competed on as then WWF Champion. Savage spent the majority of that tour working with The Mountie while The Nasty Boys spent much of it opposite The Legion Of Doom in the ring.
Brutus Beefcake was on a hiatus from the World Wrestling Federation at the time. His last matches for the company had come in July 1990 before he made his return on the 5th ever episode of Raw in February 1993 where he began the build to his and Hulk Hogan’s WrestleMania 9 clash with Money Inc.
