Bruce Prichard Reportedly Dealing With Health Issue, Absent From Multiple Shows

Bruce Prichard

According to a new report, Bruce Prichard has been absent from a number of recent WWE shows as he is dealing with a health issue.

It was originally reported by PWInsider that a number of high-ranking WWE Executives were absent from the December 27th episode of Monday Night Raw in Detroit. These were:

  • WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon
  • Senior Vice President & Executive Director Bruce Prichard
  • Executive Producer & Chief of Global Television Distribution Kevin Dunn
  • Producer, on-air talent & Director of Live Events Adam Pearce
  • Senior Producer, Hall of Famer & Vice President of Creative Writing & Booking Michael “PS” Hayes

John Laurinaitis and WWE lead writer Ed Koskey are reported to have been in charge of the show.

The report came off the back of news that four high-profile Superstars, including two World Champions were pulled from WWE’s traditional Boxing Day live event at Madison Square Garden. The late changes led to Edge and Natalya being flown into New York at the 11th hour to fill out the re-jigged card.

It has now been reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio that Prichard is dealing with a health issue and has missed other shows in recent weeks.

“No Vince at the show, No Bruce Prichard. There’s an issue with Bruce Prichard, ” Meltzer said. “I’m not exactly clear, I just heard a health issue and he’s been sick. He was sick a couple of weeks ago and he’s missed other shows, I believe. Vince, Kevin Dunn, Michael Hayes wasn’t at the show…I think those were the main people that were not at the show tonight but I think those are precautionary measures.”

At time of writing there is no news on what the health issue may be.

On Raw, the Street Profits defeated The Mysterios to become number one contenders for the Raw Tag Team Championships, while Damian Priest defended his United States Title against Dolph Ziggler.

Also on the show, The Miz and Maryse attempted to renew their wedding vows with the help of a returning Eric Bischoff. However, somewhat predictably the ceremony went far from smoothly with Edge treating the trio with a spectacular ‘Brood Bath.’
