Bron Breakker is set to defend his NXT Championship in a triple threat match at Halloween Havoc!
Last week, Tyler Bate faced JD McDonagh in the main event to determine who will be the next to face NXT Champion Bron Breakker for his title. JD McDonagh got the victory, and as he faced off with Breakker in the ring, Ilja Dragunov shocked the crowd by returning from injury to confront both men.
Dragunov opened up the September 27th episode of NXT by addressing the his return, saying that the last time he competed in NXT he ended the record-breaking reign of Gunther to become the NXT UK Champion. He was quickly interrupted by JD McDonagh, who insisted that it was his time in the company, and that he was the number one contender to Bron Breakker’s championship.
This brought out Breakker himself, who true to his Steiner roots, used math to justify calling for a triple threat match against both men at Halloween Havoc. McDonagh wasn’t pleased, but Dragunov happily accepted himself being inserted into the match.
“The way that I see it if my math is correct, which it always is, you have a 33 1/3% chance of winning! 1, 2, 3, I say we make this match a triple threat! I’ll see you boys at Halloween Havoc.”
.@bronbreakkerwwe's math ALWAYS correct! 🤣

Later in the episode, Xyon Quinn talked down to Dragunov backstage, but the former NXT UK Champion said that he doesn’t believe Quinn will ever be a champion himself. When the two faced off later in the night, Dragunov picked up the win.
Elsewhere on the latest episode of NXT, Women’s Champion Mandy Rose defeated Fallon Henley. Wes Lee defeated Tony D’Angelo by referee stoppage when D’Angelo suffered an injury.
