Bron Breakker has wrestled his final match in WWE NXT until further notice.
A standout star of the brand ever since the 2.0 era, Breakker has been hailed as a future star of the company on a number of occasions. Making a huge impact right from the start, the former NXT Champion’s speed, power and charisma proved that he had earned his place in his own right and was much more than just Rick Steiner’s son.
Following months of anticipation of when Breakker would be WWE main roster bound, it appeared that his time had come at the 2024 Royal Rumble. Having a great showing once again, reports surfaced afterwards that this was his main roster call-up. However, a couple of days after the match, Shawn Michaels stated that Breakker still had work to do in NXT and would not be full-time on the main roster just yet.
Teaming with Baron Corbin in NXT and being known as The Wolf Dogs, the at first unlikely pairing would be very successful as they won the 2024 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and the Tag Team Championships shortly after. Breakker would then be seen in multiple backstage segments on Raw and SmackDown, deliberating which brand he should sign with before eventually being confirmed as the newest member of the SmackDown roster on February 16th. Still NXT Tag Team Champion at that time, Breakker’s time on the Tuesday night show had not yet come to an end.
Bron Breakker Loses Tag Team Championship
With the former NXT Champion signed to the main roster, many predicted that The Wolf Dogs would lose the tag titles to Axiom and Nathan Frazer at Stand & Deliver. However, at the biggest NXT event of the year, Breakker and Corbin would once again stand tall. A rematch was booked for the April 9th show, which saw The Wolf Dog’s time as champions come to an end.
After the show went off the air, Corbin thanked Breakker for reigniting a fire in him and helping him win a championship for the first time in 6 years. Corbin then confirmed that Breakker would be going on to SmackDown. Breakker took the microphone and also thanked the fans along with Shawn Michaels and all the people behind the scenes. The former NXT Champion finally issued a thank you to his partner to close out the address.
Although Bron Breakker is a member of the SmackDown roster at the time of writing, he may not be by the end of the month as the WWE Draft is set to return.
In a new report, more details have been provided about the WWE Draft.
