Bron Breakker Will Defend NXT Championship In Triple Threat Match Next Week

Bron Breakker Dolph Ziggler Tommaso Ciampa

NXT Champion Bron Breakker has agreed to face two opponents for his NXT Championship next week!

In recent weeks, Raw Superstar Dolph Ziggler has been embroiled in a feud with both NXT Champion Bron Breakker as well as former NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa. The dissension began when Dolph made his way to the February 8th episode of NXT 2.0 to confront the champion after comments made on social media, and he also found himself in the crosshairs of Tommaso Ciampa when he ran down NXT as a lesser brand to the WWE main roster.

Ciampa has made multiple appearances on Raw in recent weeks, serving as commentary during one of Ziggler’s matches and also teaming with a returning Finn Balor to take on the Dirty Dawgs in tag team action. On last week’s episode of NXT 2.0, Ciampa faced Ziggler in a number one contender’s match for the NXT Championship. Just when it looked like Ciampa had bested the Showstopper, Bobby Roode interfered dressed as a cameraman and cost Ciampa a shot to regain his NXT title.

The opening match of this week’s NXT 2.0 featured another bout with Ciampa and the Dirty Dawgs, but this time his partner was none other than NXT Champion Bron Breakker, with whom he’d formed a tentative alliance while also seeking another championship bout. In the end, Tommaso Ciampa scored the pinfall over Dolph Ziggler with a Fairytale Ending.

Later in the show, all three men came face to face as they were interviewed backstage about the events earlier in the night. Ziggler maintained that he wanted his NXT title shot next week as he was the deserving number one contender, but Ciampa interrupted to remind him that he was pinned in the opening match, and said that he didn’t deserve to capitalize on his opportunity.

Ziggler once again pointed out that Ciampa’s seniority only applied in Florida and that he was a bigger star, but the two were interrupted by Bron Breakker, who insisted that Ziggler didn’t make any calls around here. When Ciampa also pointed out that he’s beaten the champion previously, Bron reached breaking point and initiated a triple threat challenge.

“You know, screw you both. I’ll kick both your asses.”

Dolph Ziggler thought that was a great idea, saying that this was the confidence he wanted to see and that he would see the champion next week. Despite a withering glance from Ciampa, WWE announced via social media that the three men will face off in a triple threat match on the March 8th Roadblock edition of NXT 2.0.
