Bron Breakker And Gunther Reportedly To Attend Royal Rumble

Gunther and Bron Breakker

WWE are reportedly planning to bring NXT Champion Bron Breakker and Gunther for Royal Rumble weekend.

Bron Breakker has had a stunning rookie year so far. Having debuted as one of many fresh new faces on the first episode of NXT 2.0 on September 14th, 2021, he smashed through competition such as LA Knight, Johnny Gargano, and Roderick Strong on his way to capturing the NXT Championship from Tomasso Ciampa at the New Year’s Evil special on January 4th.

Meanwhile, Gunther, until recently known as WALTER, recently finished a dominant run in NXT UK where he reigned as the champion for a record-breaking 870 days. The Austrian star joined the NXT roster at New Year’s Evil when he and his Imperium teammates, Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel, were defeated by Riddle and MSK in 6-man action.

The following week, however, he returned to his winning ways when he overcame Diamond Mine’s Roderick Strong. It was after this bout that he declared his contentious name change.

Now, PWInsider.com has reported that both men are being brought in for Royal Rumble weekend. The report does note that neither star has been confirmed as a participant in the Rumble match itself, although they will be there if needed.

If they are called in as surprise entrants for the Royal Rumble match on January 29th, both will be hoping to keep up their dominant ways and reserve their place in the main event of WrestleMania 38.
