Rising NXT Superstar Bron Breakker made the bold claim that he will not only fight WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns someday, but he will beat him!
While he’s only been on NXT TV since September 2021, Bron Breakker is already making waves. Not long after making his debut, he took on Tomasso Ciampa for the NXT Championship. While he was unsuccessful in that match, he did go on to pin Ciampa at NXT 2.0 WarGames, picking up the win for Team 2.0.
Speaking to ViBe & Wrestling, the second generation Superstar set his sights on future opportunities and his goals for his wrestling career.
“It starts with me becoming the NXT Champion. I think that’s my first goal in sight right now. That’s objective number one.
Then long-term, I want to be in WrestleMania. Whether that’s a Main Event, whether that’s being the World Champion going into the show, or whether that’s winning a Championship at WrestleMania. No matter what the scenario is, I want to be at WrestleMania.
I want to be a reliable talent. I want to be dependable, somebody that the company can count on and put the weight of the world on my back and say ‘this guy can do it.'”
When it comes to WrestleMania, Bron Breakker named some people he’d like to share a WrestleMania moment with, and he started with WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Not only does he believe he’ll face Reigns someday, he will be victorious.
“I will fight Roman Reigns one day, for sure. I will beat him one day too.
As far as RAW goes, obviously Seth Rollins. There’s just tons of guys between both brands. Bobby Lashley is another one. Big E is obviously WWE Champion right now. Drew McIntyre too.”
Like Roman Reigns, Bron Breakker has wrestling in his blood as his father and uncle are former WWF Tag Team Champions Rick and Scott Steiner.
Though many question why he didn’t take on the Steiner surname in NXT 2.0, he revealed to Graham GSM Matthews of Daily DDT that while he wants to build on the Steiner legacy, he also wants to make a name for himself.
“What my dad and uncle did before me with some of their promos and stuff that they’ve done, they’ve laid all this groundwork,” Breakker said. “There’s all this stuff out there for me to use if I want to.
Obviously, I’m not going to bank my entire… that’s not what I’m going for. I want to make a name for myself and stand on my own, but there’s certain things out there we can use.”
The WarGames victor also detailed how he actually came up with the name Bron Breakker himself instead of having it given to him by WWE.
“We were just sitting around one day and I’m like, ‘Well, when I used to block people in football, I used to try to break them in half. That was literally what I tried to do: snap them in half and break them. What if I’m the breaker? I break people, Breakker, and then it came to me. Bron is part of my first name and that’s what we went with.”
Breakker’s confidence is supported by other superstars speaking highly of him. In an interview with Inside the Ropes’ lead writer Gary Cassidy, former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal praised the NXT standout, calling Bron Breakker a “future WWE Champion.”
“NXT 2.0 just got revamped. There’s Bron Breakker. You know, that’s a future WWE Champion, I believe. LA Knight, blown away by him. This guy has everything, the look, the charisma, in-ring, everything. This guy could be WWE Champion. So I think the next generation is already coming.”
Drew McIntyre had similar praise for the second generation star when he spoke to Inside the Ropes’ Kenny McIntosh.
“Yeah, I was watching the first show and live tweeting along as I was paying close attention and was curious how the new format would look, and I saw some talents that really caught my eye… Steiner’s kid, Bron Breakker, he caught my attention right away.
He was like clearly an athlete of a high level. He looks great. Talks like his uncle, which is awesome. I see a big future for him if he stays on the right path, keeps working hard like he’s clearly doing.
