Brody King Makes AEW Debut On Dynamite

Brody King

Former Ring of Honor star Brody King has arrived in AEW!

AEW President Tony Khan has hinted for weeks that new signings were on the way and even ramped up expectations earlier in the day, writing on Twitter that there might be a surprise on the way.

After weeks of teases, Khan’s predictions came true as Brody King finally took his first steps in an AEW ring.

After Penta defeated Matt Hardy he claimed he was going to teach Malakai Black some respect. At this the lights went out and Black arrived, attacking Penta before being taken out by the Varsity Blondes. However, Julia Hart called a stop to the assault, much to the amusement of Black.

While Black manically laughed seemingly to himself, the lights went out again, only to come back on a reveal Brody King stood in the middle of the ring. King made short work of everyone in his way, taking out the Brian Pillman Jr and Griff Garrison.

The Kings of the Black Throne have arrived.

It was first reported on December 15th that King had signed with AEW following a vignette from Malakai Black at Winter is Coming hinting that the House of Black was set to gain a new member.

The report stated that “multiple sources” confirmed that King had signed with AEW. A source revealed that they were told about the deal on Thanksgiving weekend, with the contract being sorted shortly after the news of Ring Of Honor’s hiatus came to light.

Malakai Back has been wrapped up in a feud with the Varsity Blondes defeating Brian Pillman Jr and Griff Garrison in turn, while also blinding Julia Hart.

Brody King began his career in 2015, before signing with MLW two years later. In the years that followed King became a staple of the independent scene appearing mainly for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and Ring Of Honor.

Furthermore, King is currently one half of the PWG World Tag Team Champions alongside Malakai Black.
