Brock Lesnar’s latest opponent admits The Beast belongs in WWE following his shocking return.
The main event of SummerSlam Night 2 saw Cody Rhodes defeat John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship in a Street Fight. However, what got fans talking was the closing moments of the show, which featured a returning Brock Lesnar, who laid out The Cenation Leader.
Last weekend marked the first time The Beast was seen on television since he was defeated by Cody Rhodes at the 2023 SummerSlam. Reports suggest he was supposed to be part of last year’s Royal Rumble, but was alluded to and later named in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon.
Although Brock Lesnar’s issues are currently with John Cena, he still has a rocky relationship with Cody Rhodes. However, despite their rocky relationship and history, The American Nightmare has since swept this under the rug as he addressed his former rival’s shocking return.
Cody Rhodes Says Brock Lesnar Is A Perfect Fit For The Direction WWE Is Going In
In the latest SportsCenter show on ESPN, Cody Rhodes was asked about what Brock Lesnar means to the sport. The American Nightmare highlighted Brock Lesnar’s athleticism, stating that he was an accomplished athlete turned professional wrestler.
The Undisputed Champion then compared The Beast’s case with the NIL athletes and even Tiffany Stratton. Finally, Rhodes added that Lesnar was a good fit for the company’s goal of sports meeting entertainment.
I mean, Brock, in terms of athleticism, one of the things, we held tryouts going into SummerSlam weekend, and you have so many NIL athletes. You have so many people who are coming from the world of sport. Tiffany Stratton’s a great example of someone on our roster now who came from the world of sport, and was grown into becoming a professional wrestler, and part of the sports entertainment. Brock’s somebody who’s an NCAA Champion, UFC Heavyweight Champion. He fits right in with the direction that WWE is going in terms of sport, meeting entertainment.”
