Brock Lesnar Wants Showdown With SmackDown Star

Brock Lesnar

At WrestleMania 39, Brock Lesnar felled the Nigerian Giant, Omos, before going on to demolish Cody Rhodes the following night on WWE Raw. Now, he has taken interest in another top star.

During an interview with Danial Cormier on ESPN, The Beast Incarnate was asked if he is interested in a clash with the current Intercontinental Champion, Gunther. Lesnar was quick to say he does, but he doesn’t “make the calls in the company”.

“I do. I don’t really care… it was just proposed, and I don’t know if I don’t make the calls around here. It’s just one of those things.”

The Ring General had at one point been rumoured to be Lesnar’s opponent at WrestleMania, however, it was later reported that WWE felt Gunther “wasn’t ready” for the match.

In the end, Lesnar’s opponent was revealed to be Omos, something he says he liked because of the challenge it posed.

“When this was proposed to me, I liked it because I like the challenge, and I like the matchup.”

During the discussion, the 10-Time World Champion admitted that he would like another title run, saying that’s the goal of every wrestler.

“We all want to be a champion, but I don’t think at this point in my career that I really need it. I would like another opportunity at it. If things worked out that way, yeah. But things are crazy in this business.”

Brock Lesnar destroyed Cody Rhodes on WWE Raw

The Raw after WrestleMania tends to be a highlight of the year as it is often full of returns and surprises. While many fans felt this year’s fell far short of expectations, there was one huge shock during the night.

During the show, Cody Rhodes confronted Roman Reigns after falling short of winning the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship due to interference from The Bloodline. While he was refused a rematch for the title, he was given the opportunity to get his hands on Reigns in a tag match.

The only catch was that whoever teamed with him wouldn’t be able to challenge for the World Title while Reigns was champion and they had to have competed at WrestleMania. This brought out Brock Lesnar, who, due to losing to Reigns at SummerSlam, is already barred from challenging for the gold again.

Unfortunately, it turned out to be another night of pain for The American Nightmare as Lesnar brutally assaulted him before the match began.

The Beast delivered Suplexes, F-5’s, smashed Rhodes with a steel chair, put him through the announce table with another F-5, and launched him onto the ring steps.

Raw went off the air with Lesnar giving a double one-fingered salute to Adam Pearce, Cody Rhodes, and the utter carnage that lay in the ring.
