New WWE Champion Brock Lesnar has long played by his own rules, and a new report suggests the star took matters into his own hands at Elimination Chamber.
The Beast Incarnate entered the men’s Elimination Chamber with revenge and domination on his mind after he lost the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble to Bobby Lashley.
Lesnar bounced back quickly on that night, entering the men’s Rumble match and outlasting the rest of the field to punch his ticket to a fifth WrestleMania main event of his career. He wasted no time in telling the world he was planning on challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Title on The Grandest Stage Of Them All, but Lesnar wanted to enter that match with some gold of his own.
Brock Lesnar joined AJ Styles, Riddle, Austin Theory, Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins, and reigning WWE Champion Bobby Lashley in the demonic structure in Saudi Arabia.
During the bout, Lashley was taken out after Seth Rollins sent Austin Theory crashing through The All Mighty’s pod, Michael Cole on commentary informed viewers that Lashley had entered concussion protocols meaning he couldn’t return and a new WWE Champion would be crowned.
As the time expired for the second last pod to open, the light shone on Lashley’s now empty pod, leaving Brock Lesnar the only competitor in the bout still caged. Mike Johnson of PWInsider has now reported that Brock Lesnar smashing his way out of his pod through the plexiglass was not a planned spot in the match.
Lesnar took control, quickly eliminating Rollins, Riddle, and Styles before launching Austin Theory from the top of a pod with a vicious F5 to claim his 7th WWE Championship.
WWE has since confirmed that Lesnar’s third WrestleMania main event opposite Roman Reigns will be in ‘winner take all’ with both the WWE and Universal Championships on the line.
