Brock Lesnar Returns On SmackDown, Huge Match Set For SummerSlam

AEW Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar, complete with cowboy hat, is back on Friday Night SmackDown!

After being defeated by Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38, Brock Lesnar disappeared from WWE television. Lesnar had walked into the spectacular with the WWE Championship, but left empty handed as Roman Reigns was crowned Undisputed Universal WWE Champion.

Over the following months, Reigns has appeared sparingly, but arrived on the June 17th episode of SmackDown for a huge title defence against Riddle.

The Original Bro has been on a mission to avenge his friend in recent weeks, after The Bloodline took out his partner Randy Orton.

During the bout, Riddle had the fans in his corner from the outset and was roared on by every man, woman and child in Minnesota. Throughout the match, Riddle dropped in many of Orton’s move, including striking with an RKO ‘out of nowhere’ to score the nearest of near-falls.

However, as Riddle went to perform a springboard from the middle rope, he jumped in a spectacular Spear from Reigns, which was enough to score the win.

After the bell, Reigns toasted his victory, claiming there was no one left for him to beat. He also made sure to remind fans that he had pledged to arrive, wreck everyone and leave, and now it was time to leave after making Minnesota acknowledge him.

As Reigns and The Bloodline turned to leave they were cut off by the familiar music of Brock Lesnar who appeared to a huge ovation. Lesnar arrived in the ring and offered his hand to the champion as a show of respect. However, as soon as Reigns accepted he was hit with an F-5, before The Usos also met the same fate, leaving The Beast to stand tall.

After the show went off the air it was announced that Lesnar will challenge Reigns one more time at SummerSlam in a Last Man Standing Match.
