Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar featured in one of the top storylines on SmackDown from the end of 2002 well into 2003. The high point arguably being their clash at WrestleMania 19 which saw Lesnar win the WWE Championship despite botching a Shooting Star Press from the top rope.
Fast forward two decades and Angle has long since retired following defeat to Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35 in 2019. However, the star has seemingly toyed with the idea of having one more match, especially after undergoing knee replacement earlier in the year.
Kurt Angle Compares Braun Strowman To Brock Lesnar
On a recent episode of his podcast, The Kurt Angle Show, the WWE Hall of Famer was asked who he would like to ace if he ever stepped into the ring at another WrestleMania. Angle said that he would prefer to work with someone younger than himself so they could handle more of the workload. After picking out AJ Styles and Ricochet, Angle also floated the idea of wrestling Braun Strowman who he says reminds him of Brock Lesnar.
“Oh, man. Well, I’m not that stupid,” began Angle. “So I’m going to make sure it’s a young guy because I’m a little bit older. I lost a little bit of a step. I would have to say someone like AJ Styles or Ricochet, I really liked that kid. I think I would have an incredible match with him. One of the bigger guys, Braun Strowman. I would love to wrestle Braun He is so athletic for his size. He reminds me a lot of Brock Lesnar with his athleticism. He’s not as athletic as Brock, he’s pretty close. But those guys I think would carry me pretty well through that match.”
Brock Lesnar hasn’t wrestled since defeating Bobby Lashley at Crown Jewel back on November 5th. However, The Beast was recently called out by Drew McIntyre who said that he wants to face the former World Champion at the Royal Rumble.
