Before Jackass star Johnny Knoxville was a celebrity entrant in the Royal Rumble, he broke down Brock Lesnar’s door at a restaurant!
Ahead of the release of Jackass Forever, WWE’s latest promotional crossover saw Johnny Knoxville enter the Royal Rumble after declaring he’d be appearing in the match on social media, then officially qualifying after taking aim at Sami Zayn on SmackDown. Knoxville also teased that he wouldn’t be coming alone, and that his fellow Jackass stars would be accompanying him in his quest to main event WrestleMania.
The night before the Royal Rumble took place, the Jackass crew couldn’t wait for action to unfold and during their time in a hotel restaurant, found themselves face to face with none other than Brock Lesnar, who slammed Wee Man onto one of the restaurant tables.
Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, the Beast Incarnate shed more light on that night, revealing that the incident with Wee Man wasn’t staged, and that the table’s contents weren’t the only property destroyed that night as the crew had been setting themselves on fire and Johnny Knoxville even broke down Lesnar’s door.
“That was not staged at all. Like, I flew in town and before the Royal Rumble. I got a private room and I come walking through the restaurant at the hotel and I’m – like, I just scurried through people. Like, I just want to get in and go hide in my hole and eat my steak. Leave me alone.
“So I’m like, my buddy goes, ‘Jackass crew is out there.’ And I’m like, ‘Really?’ We walk by them. Yeah, okay. Then all of a sudden, I sent the waiter out, I sent a nice bottle of wine. So then, next thing I know, Knoxville comes into the back room, breaks my f*cking door down. Yeah, broke my door, the door on the private room. And I’m like, ‘Okay, well’. So I come walking out and then I guess, in the midst of all this, they were setting themselves on fire out in the, in the restaurant. I didn’t know that at the time.”
Lesnar said that he was about to go to bed when Wee Man confronted him, and that while none of the incident was staged for promotional purposes, it ended up being good for business as it was certainly the talk of the town.
“So, I’m just coming. I’m like, going to go home and go to bed. I’m walking out and Wee Man stands up and like, peacocks me a little bit. Yeah, he’s like – and I just picked him up and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m gonna put you down right here.’ None of it was a promo, none of it was staged. Nothing. It just turned out to be really fun. Good for business.”
Brock Lesnar won the 2022 Royal Rumble after losing the WWE Championship earlier in the night
The night of the Royal Rumble didn’t start out the way Brock Lesnar would have liked, as during his WWE Championship match with Bobby Lashley, it was revealed that Paul Heyman had realigned with Roman Reigns after being fired by the Tribal Chief back in December. Heyman handed the WWE Championship to Reigns, who used it to attack the Beast Incarnate and cost him the WWE Championship.
However, Lesnar’s fortune took a turn for the better later that night when he entered the Royal Rumble match at number 30 and went on to win, guaranteeing him a title match of his choosing at WrestleMania. Lesnar declared that he would be seeking revenge against Roman Reigns and facing him for the Universal Championship in Dallas.
Brock Lesnar has the chance to regain his WWE Championship this weekend when he competes inside the Elimination Chamber.
