Brock Lesnar will be taking a break from WWE.
As has become traditional following a big match, Brock Lesnar will be going on hiatus for the foreseeable future. However, he will be back. Following his match with Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam, Lesnar took off his gloves, embraced his rival in the middle of the ring, and raised his hand.
It was later revealed that the moment of respect was completely unplanned and something The Beast decided to do on the spot. This sparked speculation that he could be quietly retiring following the loss.
Despite the rumours, it’s been reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Sunday Update that while it’s not clear will be back in a WWE ring, he will be returning at some point.
“As mentioned on the show last night, Brock Lesnar will be off for a while. We’re not clear when he’s scheduled to return but that was not his farewell.”
Did Brock Lesnar Win At SummerSlam?
Despite being at his dominant best for much of the match, Brock Lesnar lost out to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam. The defeat appeared to bring the rivalry between the pair to an end, and Rhodes now seems back on his quest for World Title glory.
Lesnar hit a number of devastating Suplexes, and even delivered an F-5 on his rival through the announce table, but despite the onslaught, Rhodes kept coming back. The end of the match came with the American Nightmare hitting a trio of Cross Rhodes to score the win.
