Brock Lesnar is back, and all signs point to another significant run for the 10-time WWE champion. Lesnar is back for John Cena’s retirement tour, but Triple H has just opened up on why this comeback means much more than the final Cena vs. Lesnar showdown.
The Beast shocked the wrestling world by dropping the Cenation leader with a F5 in the middle of the ring to close the 38th annual WWE SummerSlam. The attack came after a grueling 38-minute Street Fight that saw Cena drop the Undisputed Championship to Cody Rhodes, who was the last person to wrestle Lesnar in their 17-minute rubber match at SummerSlam 2023.
WWE planned for Lesnar to return from losing the Rhodes rivalry at the 2024 Royal Rumble, but shortly before the event, the former UFC Heavyweight Champion was named in the sexual misconduct lawsuit that former WWE HQ employee Janel Grant filed against Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis. The company then began distancing itself from Brock, with rumors and speculation on WWE potentially being done with the two-time Royal Rumble winner.
Lesnar’s return on SummerSlam Sunday left many with more questions than before. However, Triple H has just dismissed a lot of the talk by declaring that The Conqueror is back home.
WWE Thrilled To Have Brock Lesnar Back
Brock Lesnar was cleared for a return by WWE’s legal team around one month ago, according to a post-SummerSlam report. Triple H appeared on ESPN Get Up earlier today to discuss the game-changing new deal between WWE and ESPN when Peter Schrager asked what’s next for Brock.
“Have you met Brock? [Schrager: I have not] Whatever the hell he wants. When you’re Brock Lesnar, you sort of can… when that music hits and you walk down that aisle, it doesn’t matter where he is, he sort of does what he wants to do. So, we’re thrilled to have The Beast back,” Triple H said.
The Beast’s return is massive for the WWE Universe, according to the company’s Chief Content Officer. Triple H continued and recalled how WWE reached out and told Lesnar to come home. The 48-year-old was all for it.
“So, we hit him up and said, ‘Time to come home!’ And he was into it, and here we are… a massive, massive moment for our WWE fans, something that they thought they wouldn’t get to see, [and he made a] statement with John Cena. You know, it was huge, and we’re thrilled to have him back,” Triple H said.
