Two Broadway legends were in attendance at Monday Night Raw inside Madison Square Garden!
Madison Square Garden has made its name as a world famous arena, and stars are often in attendance when WWE holds shows at the New York City venue. The July 25th episode of Monday Night Raw was no exception, as Broadway legends Lin Manuel Miranda and James Monroe Iglehart were spotted in the crowd.
Not only were they in attendance for the show, they also found themselves backstage. Iglehart posted photos on social media with the likes of Kevin Owens, Alexa Bliss, Roman Reigns, and new co-CEO of WWE Stephanie McMahon.
“Thank you @wwe & @alexa_bliss_wwe_ for an incredible historic night of my favorite past time, pro wrestling! It was pleasure to see my friends, meet my favorite performers, get to chat with the new Co-CEO of WWE.”
Lin Manuel Miranda is a multi-tool player in the world of musical theater, serving as an actor, rapper, filmmaker, songwriter, and playwright. He’s best known as the genius behind the wildly popular Broadway show Hamilton as well as being responsible for the widely-praised soundtrack to Disney’s Encanto. Throughout his career he’s won multiple awards including three Grammys, three Tony Awards, two Emmys, and a Pulitzer Prize.
James Monroe Iglehart is a Tony Award-winning actor who is most famous for his role as Genie in the Broadway production of Aladdin. He’s also performed in Hamilton in the dual role of Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson, a role he took on beginning in 2017.
The July 25th episode of Raw saw Rey Mysterio celebrate 20 years since he made his WWE debut on SmackDown. After cutting an impassioned promo alongside his son Dominik, the father and son duo were victorious in a match against The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and Damian Priest. However, their celebration was short-lived as Rhea Ripley returned from injury to attack both Dominik and Rey backstage following the match.
