Britt Baker On WWE Interest – “I Feel Like You Can’t Trust Anything With That Company”

Britt Baker Exclsuive Main

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. addressed the idea of WWE having interest in her, saying that she doesn’t feel like she can trust that company and is happy in AEW.

The first woman to become All Elite, Britt Baker has been a featured part of AEW from the very beginning. Over time, the dentist has become one of the most dynamic characters in the company.

Britt Baker captured the AEW Women’s Championship when she defeated Hikaru Shida at Double or Nothing, and as no one has been able to dethrone her, she reigns atop the women’s division, having multiple main event matches to her name.

It comes as no surprise, then, that Britt Baker recently revealed that WWE have shown interest in signing her in the past.

Speaking to Inside the Ropes’ Kenny McIntosh for issue 16 of Inside the Ropes Magazine, Baker gave her thoughts on WWE’s potential interest. When asked why she would ever consider leaving when she’s the biggest female star in the company, Baker chose her words carefully but indicated that she would never be able to trust an offer from WWE, whereas AEW has always followed through on their promises.

I mean, exactly, I can’t disagree with you. They definitely expressed interest—unfortunately, I’ve got to pick and choose how I say this—but I just feel like you can’t trust anything with that company, whereas at AEW I’ve never been promised anything that didn’t follow through.

So it’s something that, unfortunately, it’s sad that it comes down to that, that it makes a company not really desirable because you can’t trust anything they say. And I know business is business, and I understand totally that’s what it is, but as a wrestler, business is business as well.

Britt Baker went on to praise AEW and the work environment they’ve created, saying that she always has fun at work and truly loves where she is.

Everything AEW had done for me, with the growth I’ve had here, most importantly how much fun I have here, I truly love going to work every week; I never dread it and that is something that is invaluable, you can’t ever give that up and if you find something where not a day in your life feels like work then you absolutely can’t give that up. That’s where I’m at right now.

I’m too thankful to AEW and Tony Khan and everybody who has trusted in me, because without them I wouldn’t be where I am right now.

Elsewhere in the interview, the AEW Women’s Champion revealed Tony Khan’s reaction when she infamously appeared on screen during her partner Adam Cole’s match at NXT TakeOver: WarGames. WWE has since removed the footage of Baker’s appearance from the Peacock replays of WarGames.

On the most recent episode of AEW Dynamite, Britt Baker aligned herself on-screen with Adam Cole for the first time. The couple is set to take on Kris Statlander and Orange Cassidy on next week’s Dynamite.
