Britt Baker – “I Hope And Pray We See Mercedes Mone In AEW”

Mercedes Mone

Former AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker has spoken of her hopes to see Mercedes Mone make her way to the company.

Mone walked out of WWE – where she was known as Sasha Banks – back in May 2022 after reportedly being dissatisfied with her creative direction. Although there were talks to return to the company, her contract ran out and she became a free agent.

The CEO made her return to wrestling at NJPW’s biggest show of the year, Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4th. The star immediately made her mark by laying out the inaugural IWGP Women’s Champion KAIRI and challenging her for her newly won title.

The bout between the pair took place at Battle in the Valley on February 18th and saw Mone overcome the Pirate Princess to capture the championship. Following the bout, the new champion put the wrestling world on notice, saying she was taking her title global.

While her first challenger has already been determined, a line has started forming which could include All Elite Wresling’s resident dentist.

Britt Baker wants to see Mercedes Mone in AEW

Speaking to the New York Post, Baker explained said she would be “ecstatic” to have a match against Mone, recalling that she used to practice her moves while training.

Now that she is away from WWE, Baker says it’s opened up a lot of possibilities for the star.

“It’s weird to see now that she’s out in the wild. She’s not completely inaccessible in a way. These are very realistic matchups that could happen and I think the world is ready to see Mercedes Mone’ let out of the cage. What is she gonna do now?”

Baker went on to say she “hopes and prays” to see Mone make her way to Tony Khan’s company.

“I hope and pray that someday we see her in some capacity in AEW. And if by chance I could be in the connection too I would be very, very for that.”
