Britt Baker Has “Questions” Over Thunder Rosa’s AEW Absence

Thunder Rosa Britt Baker

Thunder Rosa hasn’t wrestled in AEW since August but Britt Baker still has some questions.

Back in the summer, Rosa tearfully announced that she was being forced to pull out of her Women’s Title defence against Toni Storm at All Out. However, she didn’t vacate the championship, holding the gold until November.

This meant that an Interim Women’s Championship was created, but not everyone was happy about it. Toni Storm who claimed the Interim Title called on Rosa to come back to work, while others questioned the validity of her back injury with details thin on the ground. To make matters worse, at the time of her injury layoff there were reports of Rosa mistreating extras while it was claimed that the star and her biggest in-ring rival Britt Baker “couldn’t stand each other.”

All of these feelings are set to come back to the surface in the new AEW reality series AEW All Access which documents this period. In the trailer, Baker is seen commenting “There are so many storylines on hold right now because she’s the champion,” in reference to Rosa. It appears that much of Baker’s uncertainty came from Rosa continuing to make personal appearances despite taking a break from AEW.

Speaking to SLAM Wrestling about the show, Baker doubled down on her suspicions about Rosa. The former AEW Women’s Champion compared Thunder Rosa’s time away to when her partner Adam Cole was out injured.

“I stand by everything I said because I still have the same questions… You are traveling all over the place for other projects but you’re not coming work where you are the champion? I have that question. I want to know why. I am just asking that question because I’m very passionate and protective of AEW. Anyone can call me a bully but I stand by that and that question still hasn’t been answered to this day.

People like Adam Cole would have killed to be able to come to work but he cannot travel. It is not like he was going in and doing a signing or convention or a seminar. They’re not coming to work but he wasn’t able to even leave the house.”

Britt Baker’s Partner Adam Cole Set To Return

Thunder Rosa returned to AEW on the February 8th episode of Dynamite, working at the Spanish announce desk. There is still no word on when she will be back in the ring.

Adam Cole, who had been dealing with serious concussion-related issues, is to return to action on March 29th for the first time in nine months.
