Brian Cage made a return of sorts to IMPACT Wrestling as he featured in AEW’s latest ‘paid advertisement’ that aired during IMPACT on AXS TV.
These segments have been airing on IMPACT since the working relationship between the two companies began in December 2020. Normally featuring just Tony Khan and Tony Schiavone, they have poked fun at IMPACT while promoting AEW events.
The latest installment however featured a cavalcade of AEW stars on the pitch at TIAA Bank Field – home of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Britt Baker, Ricky Starks, Ryan Nemeth, Isiah Kassidy, and Matt Hardy would appear alongside Cage to promote their respective matches on AEW Dynamite.
A former IMPACT World Heavyweight Champion, ‘The Machine’ Brian Cage commented:
“I am a former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion but that was the last time that title was in any way significant whatsoever.”

Brian Cage competed in IMPACT Wrestling full time from January 2018 until January 2020. During that time Cage would win the X Division Championship from his now AEW colleague Matt Sydal. In April 2019 Cage would win the IMPACT World Championship from Johnny Impact [John Morrison] in a match with Lance Storm serving as special guest referee.
Cage debuted in All Elite Wrestling in May 2020 at the Double Or Nothing event as the surprise entrant in the Casino Ladder Match. Accompanied by Taz, Cage would win the match and receive a shot at the AEW World Title. Jon Moxley, AEW Champion at the time, would defeat Cage when Taz would throw in the towel for his charge.
Brian Cage and his Team Taz partner Ricky Starks will be in tag team action at AEW Revolution. The pair will be part of WWE Hall of Famer Sting’s first match in over 5 years. Sting will team with TNT Champion Darby Allin in a street fight against Cage and Starks.
