Bret Hart Praises Brock Lesnar, Criticises Goldberg

Bret Hart and Brock Lesnar

Bret Hart has responded to Brock Lesnar naming him as a dream opponent, saying that he’s heard ‘The Conqueror’ is a good worker and comparing him to Goldberg.

During a recent interview with the Sports Guys Talking Wrestling Podcast, WWE Superstar Natalya revealed that Brock Lesnar had once told her that her uncle, Bret Hart, would have been a dream match for him after she had told him that Hart was a fan of Lesnar’s work.

“He told me a dream match for him would’ve been to wrestle Bret Hart. We were talking last week and he said that would’ve been a dream match because I told him how much Bret was a fan of his work. I think Brock is awesome.”

Now, during a virtual autograph session with Signed By Superstars, Bret Hart has responded to the sentiment, saying that he has always heard good things about ‘The Beast Incarnate’.

“I heard that I was his [Brock Lesnar] dream match. That was just a week ago I heard that. Always heard Brock was a good worker.”

He went on to explain that he has been told Lesnar’s moves might look stiff, but he is actually a pro in the ring. He then took a shot at Goldberg, saying that Lesnar was the complete opposite of his fellow Hall of Famer.

“I’ve never heard that [Lesnar was stiff in the ring]. Always heard just the opposite, that he looks stiff, but he’s a real pro in the ring. Totally the opposite of Goldberg.”

Bret Hart and Goldberg have not seen eye-to-eye for many years. Their animosity stems from the career-ending injury sustained by Hart when Goldberg mistimed a mule kick to his head at WCW’s Starrcade pay-per-view in December 1999. The kick gave ‘The Hitman’ a severe concussion which eventually led to his retirement early in 2000.
