Bret Hart Believes He Could Have “Danced For A Long Time” With WWE Legend

Bret Hart

While Bret Hart has clashed with some of the greatest wrestlers of all time, there is one star he would “love” to put in the Sharpshooter.

During an appearance on the Johnny I Pro Show, the WWE Hall of Famer was asked about the dream matches he could have had.

When it comes to past wrestlers, Hart named one of his childhood heroes, Sweet Daddy Siki, as well as Abdullah the Butcher.

“There’s so many. If I could go in the past, I would love to wrestle Sweet Daddy Siki just because he was my hero or Abdullah. I think I did work with Abdullah, so I had that memory.”

On the topic of modern wrestlers, The Hitman says he would love to wrestle Brock Lesnar or Roman Reigns. However, one star stands out from the rest, John Cena.

“But of today’s wrestlers, I would love to wrestle Brock Lesnar. I would love to wrestle Roman Reigns. I would love to put John Cena in the Sharpshooter.”

Bret Hart could have done “some great stuff” with John Cena

Following his iconic match with Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13 in 1997, Hart began denouncing American fans for turning their backs on him in favour of the Texas Rattlesnake. This made him a heel in the US, while he still received a hero’s welcome in his native Canada.

Hart believes that if Cena had been around at the time, he would have made a “perfect” foil.

“I just know that when I was the American bashing Canadians, John Cena would have been the perfect American. We could have danced for a long time, and we could have done some great stuff, and I wish I could have done that with someone like John Cena.”

Other stars Hart would like to have faced off against include CM Punk, and Rey Mysterio, who he feels is often overlooked.

“CM Punk and Daniel Bryan are also two of my favorites. I’ll say this like one of the greatest, maybe the greatest wrestlers of all time that people don’t often forget about or don’t recognize, Rey Mysterio is maybe one of the greatest.

“I wish I could have had one match with Rey Mysterio just to be in the ring with him. He’s one of my favorites and is always a class act. Very few wrestlers have the respect that I have for Rey Mysterio.”
