On last night’s edition of NXT, it was announced that The Undisputed Era would challenge Breezango for the NXT Tag Team Championships next Wednesday, one week before NXT Halloween Havoc.
The championship bout was finalised after weeks of mystery when Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong overcame Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan in a hard hitting bout to become number one contenders, while Breezango watched from the aisle.
Following the bout, it was announced by NXT General Manager William Regal that the former NXT Tag Team Championships would get the current holders in seven days times.
Both Undisputed Era and Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan gained the right to battle each other for the premier contender’s spot on September 23 when Strong and Burch defeated Fabian Aichner and Raul Mendoza.
Suspicious by his absence, however, was Undisputed Era leader Adam Cole who is currently suffering from broke ribs at the hands of the injured Ridge Holland. While Cole heals and waits to find out who paid the Englishman to attack him at NXT TakeOver 31, a recovering Kyle O’Reilly led his friends to the ring.
Breezango captured the NXT Tag Team Championships from Imperium’s Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel on the August 26 episode of NXT.
