In a shocking turn of events, Seth Rollins has outwitted both the WWE Universe and CM Punk.
The highlight of Night 1 of SummerSlam should’ve been CM Punk‘s world title win. However, in a shocking twist, Seth Rollins was the one who stole the show.
Heading into tonight’s event, there was some speculation surrounding The Visionary. A select group of fans and analysts strongly believed that Rollins’ injury at Saturday Night’s Main Event was a work, and that he would cash in his Money in the Bank contract at SummerSlam.
Well, he did just that tonight, as he outwitted not just Punk, but the entire WWE Universe. Following the main event, Seth Rollins’ music hit, and he came out on crutches, shouting at The Best in the World, telling him to enjoy his reign while it lasts. That’s when he pulled off the biggest swerve, dropping the crutches and rushing into the ring for the cash-in.
He hit Punk with the briefcase several times before finally hitting him with a Curb Stomp and pinning him to once again become World Heavyweight Champion.

It was an epic way to end an epic Night One of SummerSlam. Now, fans will be looking ahead to the coming episode of RAW to see what the new champion has to say.
Michael Cole has dubbed Seth Rollins’ actions as the “Ruse of the Century”
Seth Rollins’ cashing in at SummerSlam gave everyone a sense of deja vu. After all, it was just over 10 years ago that Rollins pulled off what Michael Cole called the “Heist of the Century.” It was at WrestleMania 31 that he cashed in during the match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar to become WWE Champion.
Now, he has done it again, only this time, it is against someone he loathes more than The OTC, CM Punk. As expected, the Voice of WWE had to give this cash-in a special name as well. So, he decided to derive inspiration from his WrestleMania 31 phrasing and dub this one the “Ruse of the Century.”
