BREAKING: John Cena Dethroned At SummerSlam; Cody Rhodes Is An Emotional Mess

Cody Rhodes and John Cena on WWE Smackdown

John Cena has finally been dethroned at SummerSlam, leaving Cody Rhodes incredibly emotional.

The main event of Night 2 of SummerSlam saw John Cena defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful in that endeavor, as the American Nightmare came out on top.

It was a chaotic finish, filled with Cross Rhodes’ and Attitude Adjustments. The Never Seen Seventeen, at the age of 48, gave everything he had to try and retain the title. He even pulled off a massive Avalanche Attitude Adjustment. However, at the end of the day, it just didn’t work out.

A Cody Cutter from Rhodes off the top rope and into a table left Cena in a daze. After that, Cody Rhodes gave his hero and idol one final salute before hitting a Cross Rhodes for the win.

It will be interesting to see what comes next for the Undisputed WWE title. Rhodes will surely be hoping for yet another long title reign. Now, though, the big question is, what is the next stop for John Cena on his retirement tour?

John Cena is officially back to being a babyface

Over the weekend, John Cena returned to being a babyface on SmackDown. However, heading into SummerSlam, there were some among the WWE Universe who were still skeptical. After all, it could’ve just been a ruse.

That, however, is not the case. It seems as though Cena is well and truly back to being a babyface. This was symbolised by the moment he shared with Cody Rhodes after the match was over. It was an emotional moment filled with nothing but love and respect.

No cheap shots, no low blows, no heelish moves whatsoever. The perfect sign that Cena will remain a babyface for the rest of his retirement tour.
