Bray Wyatt was released from WWE in July 2021, but he was reportedly one of the highest-earning performers in the company prior to his exit.

Bray Wyatt’s WWE release came as a shock when it was confirmed on 31 July 2021, thus ending his 12-year association with the promotion. At the time of his release, the former WWE Champion had been absent from television following the conclusion of his rivalry with Randy Orton.

Despite his booking and career trajectory being less than favourable in the eyes of fans, Bray Wyatt was considered one of the company’s top stars and was moving a lot of merchandise. As a result, his salary was an insane number, as Dave Meltzer noted in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t WrestleTalk):

“At the time he left the company, he was believed to be the third or fourth highest-paid performer on the roster with a contract in the $4 million per year range at the time he was cut and was a major merchandise draw.”

During his time in WWE, Bray Wyatt was a former WWE, Universal, and Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Champion but despite his success, WWE were rarely able to get his booking right. Wyatt won the Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Worst Gimmick award twice, Worst Feud of the Year four times, Worst Match of the Year twice, and Worst Worked Match of the Year twice.

Bray Wyatt, who is now referring to himself by his real name of Windham Rotunda, is yet to return to the ring. He has attended a handful of signings and is heavily expected to join All Elite Wrestling in the future, where his former Wyatt Family brethren, the late Mr. Brodie Lee, enjoyed mass success as ‘The Exalted One’.

He recently got engaged to JoJo Offerman, with whom he has two children.
