Bray Wyatt is seen as a unique performer in the world of professional wrestling because of his outlandish personas and storylines, including his recent run-ins with the mysterious ‘Mr Howdy’. However, there’s another star Wyatt believes to be in a “league all by himself” for altogether different reasons, the late ‘Mr. Perfect’, Curt Hennig.
Hennig is widely regarded as one of the best technical wrestlers to ever grace the squared circle. The star began his career in 1980 and by 1987 had worked his way to the top of the American Wrestling Association, defeating Nick Bockwinkel for the promotion’s World Heavyweight Championship. He held the title for over a year before being defeated by Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler.
Soon after the loss, Hennig signed with WWE where he embarked on a two-year undefeated streak under the ‘Mr. Perfect’ moniker. Playing on his in-ring prowess, the character was an arrogant heel who saw himself as being perfect at everything he tried.
The first stumbling block the star met during his WWF career was Bret Hart. The pair had several matches during 1989 which resulted in time-limit draws. However, in one of their most well-remembered encounters that November on Prime Time Wrestling, Hennig finally overcame The Hitman in a bout described as a wrestling clinic, although Mr. Perfect had to pull Hart’s tights to secure the pinfall.
Bray Wyatt is “mesmerized” by Bret Hart vs. Curt hennig
That match recently resurfaced on social media and Bray Wyatt took note, explaining to the account that posted it that it “never fails to mesmerize” him as he believes Mr. Perfect to be in a league of his own.
“Curt Hennig is in a league all by himself. No matter how many times I see this match it never fails to mesmerize.”

Since returning to WWE at Extreme Rules in October 2022, Wyatt has yet to show off his own ring skills on TV, although he has taken to the ring at several live events in recent weeks. His first official bout back with the company will take place at the Royal Rumble when he takes on LA Knight in a Pitch Black Match.
