Former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt has issued a response after fans of his were referred to as “incels” on social media.
In a year that has seen the WWE slice its roster considerably due to budget cuts, perhaps the biggest surprise to come from that was the company’s decision to release former WWE Champion The Fiend Bray Wyatt from his contract.
Wyatt had been a big part of WWE television since first debuting as part of The Wyatt Family but had rejuvenated his character in recent years as he introduced the world to The Fiend. He last competed for the company at WrestleMania 37 where he fell to Randy Orton after a distraction from his former ally Alexa Bliss.
At SummerSlam, it was reported that a fan had their sign paying tribute to Bray Wyatt confiscated by security, this led to Forbes’ Alfred Konuwa issuing this statement on social media:
The sign Konuwa was referring to could be seen on RAW during the Tag Team Turmoil match which kicked off with The New Day facing The Viking Raiders and read “Support Black Wrestling.”
Bray Wyatt has since responded, inferring that he agrees with the sentiment of the sign from RAW but didn’t care for the “incels” comment:
“All you needed was the beautiful part of this tweet. The rest…….”

Wyatt’s future has been the subject of much speculation since he was released from his WWE contract on July 31st, 2021. New AEW arrival CM Punk caused much furore when he sported sneakers on AEW programming that bore the initials ‘BD’ and ‘BW.’ It was believed by many that the initials referred to Bryan Danielson who debuted at All Out and Bray Wyatt although this has not been confirmed by Punk. The Chicago native offered an explanation as to the ‘AC’ and ‘CF’ initials his footwear bore on his AEW debut.
