Bray Wyatt Responds To Controversial Report Stating He “Deserved” To Be Released

Bray Wyatt cuts a promo

Bray Wyatt has responded to a recent report which claimed that people inside WWE thought he “deserved” to be released.

Bray Wyatt was released from his WWE contract on July 31st and has given only cryptic hints at what the future holds for him in wrestling. Most recently he posted the words “Two more days” on Twitter, likely referring to the expiry date of the no-compete clause on his contract.

Since his release, there have been numerous reports regarding the reasons for WWE letting him go. On October 15th, Andrew Zarian of The Mat Men podcast said there was more to it than just budget concerns.

“Bray was being difficult. I’m going to fill in a lot and I’m not going to quote here. I have the quote but I don’t want to quote it. He was a little difficult, he had some performance issues in the ring, and he had some weight issues.”

Now, Ringside News has made the claim that a WWE source told them Wyatt “deserved to be released”.

“If you were running a business, and Windham was on your payroll, you’d release him, too. Between his backstage antics and the way he handled himself when making millions and millions while medically flagged, he really deserved to be released.”

However, the former Universal Champion has responded to the allegation, first by posting a gif of The Rock rolling his eyes and then following up by saying that was “Johnny and Bruce’s opinion” but he would give his side soon. He is likely referring to Head of Talent Relations, John Laurenitis, and Executive Director of Creative, Bruce Prichard.

While it is still unknown where Bray Wyatt will make his next appearance, it does look like we know the name he will be using going forward. He has signed off several tweets with the ‘Kult of Windham’ hashtag and has now changed his Twitter handle to ‘@Windham6’, so it’s likely he will go by his real name of ‘Windham’, at least for the time being.
