Bray Wyatt once had this ‘legendary’ WrestleMania match planned.
A couple of years ago, in August 2023, former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt passed away. Known for his exceptional creative abilities and wrestling skills, Wyatt is widely remembered amongst WWE fans and management alike. With a documentary and a video game special edition based on him, the Stamford-based promotion has done its best to keep Wyatt’s legacy alive.
Addressing Wyatt’s impact on the roster, former NXT Champion Karrion Kross recently opened up on previous plans of facing The Buzzard’s leader. Kross and Wyatt have never worked with each other but were once involved in a plan to face each other. Speaking about it to Sam Roberts on Not Sam Wrestling, Kross shared how Wyatt wanted a WrestleMania match between them.
I remember one day, I went up to him and I was like, ‘Hey dude, I think I should create an opposition group to fight you.’ He was like, ‘Hmm. Don’t do that.’ ‘Why?’ ‘The way you’re being produced right now is perfect. It’s not malicious, but you’re not going to be produced that way anymore if you’re an opposition to me because we have similarities.
What we should do is try to kill each other at WrestleMania. Watch Terry Funk and Bruiser Brody with me. That’s the kind of match I feel would be good for the both of us. I want to do that. After that, maybe we do the night of or the night after, we find a common ground.”

Despite the missed opportunity to work with Wyatt, Kross is now involved in a storyline against his brother, Bo Dallas, aka Uncle Howdy. The Final Testament is currently working against The Wyatt Sicks on Raw.
Bray Wyatt’s final match was at the 2023 Royal Rumble against LA Knight.
Karrion Kross Reveals Bray Wyatt’s Idea Of Involving WWE Raw Announcer Into The Story
Once slated to work with one another, Kross, unfortunately, never received that opportunity. Speaking to Sam Roberts on Not Sam Wrestling, he recently opened up on an idea, where Wyatt once planned to recruit Wade Barrett as an “inside commentary guy”.
He had a lot of ideas. One idea was, he wanted to create a group even bigger than six. He wanted representation of the group on each show. He was asking me to vet some of the people at NXT because he didn’t know who they were. He knew who he liked and he knew who had cool gimmicks and cool creative, but he said, ‘I don’t know these people and I don’t want to invite people who are going to be problematic or marks for themselves.’
He’s asking me to vet people in NXT to create a group for NXT. He wanted me to go to the other show so I could still be produced the same way and not lose lines. He’s a real center man.
He was trying to explain to me, ‘If you stand next to me, I’m always going to be the one talking. You have something. I don’t want to stifle that.’ That was one of the ideas of many. He was really into DC’s Court of Owls. He wanted to do something in that realm. He had one crazy idea, he wanted Wade Barrett to be an inside commentary guy. One day, Wade was going to get up and Bullhammer somebody, pull open the shirt, and he had whatever the (logo) idea was on the shirt.”
