Former WWE superstar Enzo Amore recently spoke about Bray Wyatt’s attempt to add a former NXT star to The Wyatt Family in the early days of the group’s existence.
The man in question was Knuckles Madsen, who was part of WWE’s developmental system from 2012 to 2013, with his only televised NXT match taking place on May 29, 2013. He was released from the company on December 17, 2013, shortly after Wyatt and his stablemates Erick Rowan and Luke Harper had debuted on the main roster.
Bray Wyatt Asked For Current Independent Star To Join The Wyatt Family
On the Monte & The Pharaoh LI#1 Pro Wrestling Broadcast, Amore revealed that NXT’s decision-makers refused to let Knuckles Madsen join the faction, citing fears that he would overshadow Wyatt’s leadership.
Madsen, who is now known as Ivan Warsaw on the independent scene, faced Amore in a series of matches in 2021, one of which for Southwest Wrestling Entertainment ended in disaster when a DDT spot on the outside left Amore knocked out cold and rushed to the hospital on a stretcher.
In addition to revealing the tidbit about Madsen and the Wyatt Family, Amore also shared his thoughts on the future success of Bray Wyatt and of another NXT alumni, RAW Superstar Chad Gable, saying:
“People don’t know who the best wrestlers in the world are from 2012 to 2018 unless they were in the WWE, probably in the Performance Center. You have a good feel for who can go and who can’t. I knew how good Chad Gable was. Nobody needed to tell me that. That motherf****r was an Olympian.”
Although he has appeared on several house shows since his memorable WWE return at Extreme Rules in 2022, Bray Wyatt is yet to return to the ring on WWE television. He has instead intrigued fans with wacky weekly segments on SmackDown involving his alter egos, including the latest addition to Wyatt’s cast of characters, Uncle Howdy.
Wyatt has also been involved in a series of altercations with LA Knight, with the two set to square off in the upcoming Pitch Black Match at Royal Rumble on January 28th.
