The Brawling Brutes Confirmed For This Week’s NXT

The Brawling Brutes Sheamus Butch Ridge Holland cut a promo WWE SmackDown 2022

A surprising WWE faction is heading to NXT for the week, just days before a colossal showdown at Extreme Rules.

The Brawling Brutes will appear on this week’s (4 October) broadcast of NXT.

As was confirmed during the latest WWE Monday Night Raw, the trio of Sheamus, Butch, and Ridge Holland are jetting off to the WWE Performance Center for their first appearance outside of Friday Night SmackDown as a unit. Raw commentator Byron Saxton will also be heading to Orlando for the night.

It comes just days before they collide with Imperium’s GUNTHER, Ludwig Kaiser, and Giovanni Vinci in a Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook match at Extreme Rules. Sheamus will also challenge defending Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER on the season premiere of SmackDown one day before.

For Butch and Ridge Holland, this will mark a return home. Butch, as Pete Dunne, became an NXT regular in 2018 while still holding the United Kingdom Championship, and ultimately went on to hold the NXT Tag Team Championships with Matt Riddle in the beloved BroserWeights pairing.

As for Holland, his success was fleeting after he spent much of his time there off of television. He ended his tenure teaming with the then-Pete Dunne in a losing effort to Kyle O’Reilly and Von Wagner before being called up to SmackDown in the 2021 WWE Draft.
