It has been announced that returning WWE Superstar Braun Strowman will compete in his first WWE match in over sixteen months.
Braun Strowman was released from his WWE contract in June 2021 among ongoing budget cuts in the company. Following the change of management at the top of the company, Strowman was one star who recently returned to the company alongside the likes of Johnny Gargano, Karrion Kross, Scarlett, and Hit Row.
The Monster Among Men made his return on the 5th of September edition of Raw when he interrupted a fatal four-way tag team match, attacking all the competitors involved. Since then Braun Strowman has been part of the SmackDown brand and again made his presence felt on Friday night.
He originally took out Mace and Mansoor of the Maximum Male Models only to be confronted by Chad Gable who Strowman attacked the prior week. Gable’s Alpha Academy partner Otis hit a splash and a big slam on Braun Strowman but Strowman’s resilience saw Alpha Academy scarper.
Now it has been announced that on the 23rd of September edition of SmackDown in Salt Lake City, Utah, Braun Strowman will be back in official action as he goes one-on-one with Otis.
Strowman’s last WWE match came at WrestleMania Backlash back in May 2021 when he unsuccessfully challenged for the WWE Championship in a triple threat match involving Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre.
